2nd Prayer shawl completed...

My second prayer shawl for our prayer shawl ministry is completed!  This was was triangular - I thought it was going to be really different, but all it was was granny squares once you got started, so not that different at all.  But, comfy and cosy as you can see from Roar!

And a token picture of Gigi on the floor...
Things have been crazy lately, inlaws and nephews are in town and nathan and evan and all have been playing and keeping quite busy with activities (zoo and parade) -- all fun stuff!  Today the boys have a birthday party to go to...I am sure they will enjoy it.

Grandpa, can I help you?

Grandpa and Grandma get three or four steers every summer and raise them.  Nathan and I had a dentist appointment on Tuesday morning, and we found out that my parents were picking up the steers that afternoon, so we asked if we could come with.

We drive about an hour up to a farm...Nathan just loved seeing all their animals, chickens, ducks, cows, roosters, dogs, hens....

Everywhere he went he just kept smiling...

Nathan looking at our new steers!  They are named after my younger brother's guns:  Colt, Manchester, and Benali - I love 'em!

One of the kids there showed Nathan his duck - something about farm kids (most of them, anyways) - always very sweet and kind!

On the way home Grandpa said to Nathan, "Nathan, will you help me when I get home?"  Well, I don't think Grandpa expected that as soon as we got home Nathan asked with every step..."Grandpa, can I help you?"

Nathan loves helping Grandpa drive!

Unloading....there they are!

I should have gotten a picture of what  happened after this...Dad and Nathan cleaned out the trailer...and boy, did Nathan have a great time.  I asked Nathan about halfway through, "do you want to come in now?"  and he goes, "no Mommy.  Grandpa and I aren't finished cleaning this out yet."

Then Nathan and Grandpa put everything away and put the tractor back into the barn...overall it was a busy day for me running around everywhere -- I didn't do much, but boy was I tired when I got home!

Play date at Edinborough Park

For Christmas Nathan got 10 passes to Edinborough Park in Edina.  Which is great, except for the Edina part...we went with one of his friends from school...

Yes, my kid is always the sweaty one!!!  Here he is explaining to me how things are in the play area....

One of the neat things about this indoor play park is the gym they have...with scooters and balls and the kids can run around in there...

Last Saturday was hot.  And muggy.  After church (we usually attend Saturday evening) I didn't feel like cooking or getting the house hot.  So, I said, "let's go to Perkins."  In Forest Lake, the kids eat free on Saturday nights, and, they have breakfast, so the kids love it!

Evan was alittle difficult as he was so hungry, so here he is playing with my key badge.  Daddy has problems smiling...I kept telling him to smile and he would give me a grumpy face.  This happened multiple times.

Our friends just had a baby - a baby girl.  Our neighbor is over a week overdue with a baby girl.  I love my boys, and I think if I had another, a boy would be great - I love boys!!  But with all these girls around me I have been wondering what "pink" would be like....

Picnic just because...

Last Thursday was just a rough day at work - as I sat there crunching away at numbers, answering phone calls, and rushing to try to get everything done, I looked outside my office and thought what a nice day it was for a picnic and wished I was having one.

Then I remembered that I could -- so, when we got home I packed up sammies and snacks and drove to the park.  Chris wanted to exercise so I said, "fine, we will go to the park three miles away and you can run and meet us there."  It was windy and hot out - so he was going to definately get a workout!

We got there and the kids played...this park is the "Scoop Park".

And here's the infamous "scoop"...

Evan's favorite part of parks lately is bridges.  He goes back and forth on them and giggles.  He even bailed last week-- rolled off one and fell on the ground.  I was worried but he got up and pulled the wood chips out of his mouth and went back on the bridge.

We watched for Daddy, and when he came running up the path we all cheered!  Evan saw him and his little leggies went so fast trying to go see Daddy...

Then we had our picnic...

Nathan put every type of chip available in his sandwich...

Evan kept wiping his dang cheeto hands on my pants!  what a stinker!

Nathan examining an ant that came to visit...

The rock wall...

Whoa Evan, look at your hair!

I wasn't sure if the kids had fun (ha ha) but it was confirmed later when Nathan asked, "can we have a picnic dinner again tomorrow night?"

My favorite time of day

is storytime.

I love curling up with Evan on the recliner in his room while he says, "mo bookts" and "story puh-ease".  sometimes we read two...sometimes we read ten.  he loves pointing out things in the books  -- "bumblebee" and "monkey".  I love the smell of his hair as I hold him (he always insists of being directly on my lap) and how snuggly he is for these few minutes of everyday.

Uncle Kevin even enjoyed it one night recently!

After Evan goes to bed, an hour or so later, Nathan goes.  He now "reads" stories to me, and he laughs at the silliest things, and makes me "go back" all the time to "tell me something" about the previous page.  After stories the other night, a Grandpa crawled into the bed with Nathan!
