A summer of soccer

I have been determined to catch up on my blog postings and get through pictures.  I have spent a couple nights doing this and requesting pictures from people....whew!  feels good to get things organized and downloaded.

Nathan was in soccer again this year.  This time, however, he was on a team with ALL boys and a referee.  Boy, does that make a difference.  They actually played real games and had practice one night a week.  Boy, was it fun to watch him play games.  The kids (U6) still tend to chase after the ball in clumps, but slowly they are learning to spread out and pass.

Nathan isn't as good at offense as he is at defense.  He really gets in there and kicks the ball away when it gets close to the net -- very aggressive, which is fun to watch.  He also has started to sprint more when going after a ball, which is neat.  He hasn't done this in the past.  He says he really likes it.  We didn't sign him up for fall soccer because, well, he is only 6!  And kids need time to just be kids...

Jeffrey and I at the game....

Waiting on the sidelines....

Who is that sexy coach on the left wearing dress socks??

This is a picture from the game where Nathan scored a goal....
