The boys break up....

After months of slow and steady progress, the carpet was finally put in and the walls were painted.   All that was left was to move Nathan in -- note that the putzy bookshelf and ledges aren't yet done.  These are tedious things, that take time measuring, staining, varnishing, and sanding, which is hard to do on weekends when the kids are in the room.  But we are getting closer and closer....

So this picture is from May, prior to the big move....

Nathan chose the color...

We used Home Depot for the carpet.  I DO NOT recommend it.  EVER.  The subcontractors were wonderful that actually installed the carpet.  The subsidiary or affiliate of Home Depot, that does the carpet scheduling and sets up the subs, is a piece of crap.  The only good news is that due to all the problems, we paid hardly anything for this carpet...

We moved the bed out of Evan's room, and he slept on the bean bad mattress (it becomes a bed, super comfy) for a few days.  It was also nice to do a DEEP clean of this room...

So again, this is Evan's room, the boys old room (not Nathan's new one downstairs).  Here is Evan's new furniture!!!  So much storage!

And here it is all made and set-up by Mommy and Evan!

He loved it!

The dresser went in the closet, and then Chris reworked these old desks so the boys could each have one.  These desks are from the one-room schoolhouse my mom attended through Grade 8!  how awesome is that?  The old inkwell we are now using for ipad cords....

Daddy also finds it nice to have a rolling chair upstairs...he is so funny, he rolls it out and then watches the kids in the tub from the hallway...whatever works!  :-)

Nathan's room needed some curtains and a shade, so I took his old sheets that were starting to fall apart, found some good areas, and made them into curtains.  He LOVED it and it cost me nothing!

I am currently (as of September 18th, today!) in the process of varnishing the ledge.  I hope to get a third coat on this afternoon...we shall see how that goes.  I have Jeffrey's 18 month pictures later on today...18 month pictures...argh...that and 2 year pictures...so frickin' difficult.  We shall see how it goes!
