Getting ready for Christmas...

Got the vehicles out for the baby.  The two big kids played on them.

One is broken now, but it was funny to watch them play with them again.

Evan watching Rudolph.  I can never seem to fit in as many Christmas shows as I would like each year, but I think I got it all the classics, which the exception of the Christmas Carol -- I never saw it on tv so I didn't tape it...

Chris and I at my work Christmas party at the Depot -- I didn't think we would go since our usual babysitter said "no", so Kevin and his girlfriend helped out!  :-)

We went skating.  My cheeks hurt after that from smiling so much...

Jeffrey is in a chewing phase, so out came Evan's chewer.  He loved it.  Note how Mystro is behind him being naughty and stealing his snacks!

Here is Mystro being in Jeffrey's pack and play....seriously Mystro, this stuff isn't for you!

So, I really wanted to make the easy milk-carton gingerbread houses with the boys this year.  In September, I was telling my friend Lisa this and we decided at a bonfire that we should do it together and that it would be a fun Christmas gathering for our families.  It totally was!

Here we are all set-up....some purchased candy but lots of leftover Halloween stuff...

Here we all are busy...see why I need another table???   Dream:  two more rooms!  one upstairs, one downstairs and then house would be perfect.  Someday maybe.

What was fun was after the kids rushed through theirs so they could go "play" (which is what I thought they were doing when we were building the houses, but I guess not), the four adults sat down, had some delicious adult beverages, and made ours...slowly.  It was so fun, and with the kids fully entertained (Jeffrey exception), it was peaceful!

Group picture before present opening -- love this...

Here are our completed houses...I will let you figure out whose is whose...(is that grammar correct?)....Oh well, don't care...

Up to Thanksgiving....

Post trip went by so fast...why you ask?  Oh, you know, just the normal November sicknessess!

Things were supposed to calm down...Thursday the week after our trip, Nathan pukes.

He didn't stop until Saturday.  We were hoping we were in the clear, then that night, Evan.  BLAH.  Daddy and I took turns with him.  Oh the joys.

Sunday morning?  Daddy falls ill around 10AM.  I wasn't feeling so good but I held it together all day and took care of things.  Monday morning I had a conference -- Daddy hadn't gotten out of bed until 7AM when I start yelling at him because I feel like crap and had to go and get the kids going.

Then Grandma calls.  She was sick.  Shit.  Baby and Evan stay home with Grandma.  Mommy takes Nathan to school and heads to conference -- my throat is dry and my voice is hoarse, but whatever.

Everyone I talk to at the conference says, "are you sick?"  because I was losing my voice.  That got annoying quite fast, so I hid in the back and stopped talking to people (screw you people!)....then, I had to go to the bathroom.  rut roh.  after about the 3rd trip to the bathroom, I was outta there.

I came home, took my temperature (102!) and was like, oh crap, no wonder I feel delusional!  I laid in bed for five hours, and then got up and laid on the couch and we watched "Nine Lives" on Hallmark.  It's funny how I remembered the show even though I felt like crap. I should watch that again -- I love Hallmark!  Thank goodness there are new shows on for Valentine's day -- corny romance and no sex -- love that!!

Here's Mystee!

In between all the sicknessess, I had a basket making day with the ladies...got a lot done and had a good time even though wasn't feeling the greatest.

Lisa the basket-weaving QUEEN:

Mystro trying to assist:

The day Chris was sick, I had to put up the gate.  This little guy kept trying to go down the stairs...I want my baby back!  *sniff sniff*

Where is Jeffrey?   Cute baby!!

Lots of puking = lots of sheet washing.  Mystro likes to make sure I get the sheets nice on the bed....

Put up some Christmas stuff...once again, Mystro tries to help....

More basket making....oy....

Happy Thanksgiving!  apparently I took no pictures other than these:

At least I got one of Jeffrey!

And of Dad and Glen napping while the girls do dishes...ripoff!

More Christmas!

Speltz Christmas -- as usual, the girls (sans Molly) are in the kitchen getting stuff ready....boys?  downstairs at the bar...

So we drink and snack while we get the food ready, and take selfies --

My mom has cut back on the cookies...but there are still lots...

Here are my boys with their Speltz cousins:

Here come the blurry gift openings:

Kevin and his girlfriend!  This was a first...(looks like a keeper!)

Schwartz Christmas:

Schwartz cousins...and the dog.

Family pic....J, what you doing?

Grandparents and grandkids!

Three generations...

Let's get the wives in there...

It started to snow...I told the boys to get outside.  It was such a lovely snow, so I went outside too...it was warm, so the snow was perfect for making snowballs.  I started to throw them at the boys - BAD IDEA!  Suddenly I had FOUR kids throwing snow at me! Fortunately, I had my phone, so I called Chris and he answered (he was inside playing on his phone) and I go, "Help! I need reinforcements!"

He understood and the next thing I know, here come the Daddies!  Boy was that fun, they whipped snowballs at these boys and there was so much giggling and laughing from everyone --

Trip to the Dells!

I have been trying to catch up to this weekend for awhile since I have a lot of pictures from it.  The week after our "quiet" first weekend in November, it was crazy for us.  On Monday Nathan and I had religion (small groups), on Tuesday it was election day so Chris voted, I dropped Nathan off at school then voted, came home and packed and went to the airport for a two day conference for work.

The conference ended Thursday evening, so I rode back with some coworkers who dropped me off in the Dells (I was already in Milwaukee) and Daddy dropped the baby off with Grandma, picked the boys up from school, and drove them out to the Dells to meet me.

Here they are -- on their way with a bathroom break and dinner at McDonalds!  They looked excited.  While I waited for them to arrive I walked around the campus and got an idea of where things were -- The Wilderness is BIG.

The first night we got there it was around 8 after we unpacked everything, so then we took the boys to the indoor play area.  It is three stories high and had all these balls you can shoot.  Umm, yeah, they loved it!

The next day we were up early and at the waterpark shortly after it opened - 9AM.  This first park was the wave pool, and I didn't think the kids would like it.  But, they have these new tubes where you can sit in one side with a seat.  So, Evan would sit in that and we would be in the other side of the tube, and then when the waves would come you think he (and Nathan) would be scared, but they loved it.  Evan even fell out one time because the waves knocked him and Daddy over, but he had a life vest on and Chris just yanked him back up and Evan laughed.  My kids definitely like being tossed around like crazy...

It was nice to just sit, but Daddy and I weren't allowed to sit very much at all...

So  much bigger than last year...what a difference a year makes.

We did waterparks (and naps) all day Friday, then at night we did some mini golf.   The mini golf was really lame, no cool things to go through, but it was glow in the dark and pirates and pretty easy so the kids liked it.

It's easier to take pictures of them when they are not running around all wet...

We had a suite so we saved tons of $$ not going out for meals, plus saved a lot of time.  That was great, and yes, Daddy is preparing himself by having beer at breakfast...

Hurry up Mom and Dad - we are ready to go!

Here we go!  Another waterpark....

Bumper boats --

Evan looks so tiny here...

It was nice to chill in our room when tired...

I got adorable pictures like this while I was gone -- made me miss my baby!  Bad Grandma!  :-)

Pizza dinner and a movie....

Being silly and laying on the pull out bed...

We had two separate rooms, which was great.  The kids had a cool bunk bed in their room, but Nathan and Evan decided to sleep together anyways.  They also had a TV in their room, which was great when they woke up early and Mommy and Daddy were still too exhausted to get up.  Where do kids get all of their energy?

On our way out, Sunday morning, we took a very short carriage ride -- it was free and the horses were beautiful!

It was a nice way to end the weekend -- four hours later, we were home!

As soon as we got home and picked up the baby, we heard that a big snowstorm was coming.  A BIG ONE.  Chris and I started hauling out the outside lights because we knew otherwise they wouldn't get in the ground or up.  Good thing we did -- next morning we had over a foot of snow at our house!  (it all melted before Christmas, but it was a GOOD SNOW!  The only good one we have had this year).
