boys...

my life is full of boys.

here we are trying on hats for winter at Target.

Here we are staring at a GIANT cookie Mommy gave me...

Here we are staring at the mismatched socks of 2015...*sigh*...I have a pile.  Occasionally I go through it...

Here we are after being diagnosed with a very sad case of ringworm...poor Evan...fortunately he is almost 100% now!!

Here we are playing with a toy Mommy pulled down from the attic...

Playing video games...

Eating chocolate cake...

Hangin' out in our underpants...as all boys (men) do....

hanging out with Mommy in Target...

Being naughty and ingenious!

LOL!  I had to throw these in!!!

Christopher's baby pic!  He actually looks like most like EVAN here!!!!

Here we are snuggling with Grandma Jayne...

Here we are.  stuck.  "stuck!  Mama!  Stuck!"

Here we are post church, having ourselves some Taco Bell...just like Daddy did growing up...

Day of the Dozers and stitches for the win

So we heard about "Day of the Dozers" from a friend of ours -- it is a charitable event to benefit Children's Hospitals -- you pay to let your kids have a try at an excavator ("scoop"), ride a bull dozer, and all sorts of other equipment.
]
I wanted to get there early since I had a feeling it was going to be packed -- it was!  We got there a few minutes after it opened and there were already lines.  We were smart and went for the Excavators first...

Evan is working the back left here...and Nathan is working the one up close on the right...they actually got to move and pull the levers...and they LOVED that!!

Now that I have an SLR, next year my pictures will be fabulous!  But with the iphone this is as good as it gets...

dumping dirt!

Here they are riding the bulldozers...the boys were annoyed they didn't get to drive -- but we told them, they can't DRIVE as they are little kids!

Here is what Jeffrey got to do...he loved it...didn't mind one bit he didn't go on the big machines...

I am not sure what these were called.  They got to ride on these as well, no pushing buttons though so they were not happy about that...  :-)

It was a little chilly but simply a gorgeous fall day -- we left there and ran to Home Depot to quickly do the project there before it was over (it was something cool...a chalk board maybe?)

The next morning things were going good..we got up and were getting ready for church, and we told the boys to go down and get their shoes on.  Next thing we hear is crying, no big deal, but Nathan screams for us as Jeffrey was bleeding...

Turns out he jammed his finger in the door (which never healed correctly, which is too bad)...and he cut his temple wide open on those hooks on the inside of the bi-fold door...here he is post stitches and smiling!
Even though it was not fun at all that morning, as I was sitting in the waiting room with the two other boys while Daddy was in the ER with Jeffrey (nothing else was opened), our good friend Glen came into the ER!!  I heard a familiar voice and turned around and there he was.  He thought he broke his shoulder and so they had come in to have it checked out.  He was put in the room next to Jeffrey, and we stopped by after we left to say hi and I gave him a hug.  I feel like God put me there that day, because a month later, Glen passed away in his sleep.  That was the last time I saw Glen...I still miss both him and Dee -- I used to occasionally stop by and see how they were and give them a hug and a smile.  Makes me sad and happy to think about them...you know?   Someday I know I will see them again...

Here is Jeffrey post stitches!  He was a happy boy once it was over...the nurse did a great job of stitching him up, hardly a scar now...

School and a Wild Game

As with the end of summer comes the beginning of school....

We started school this year before labor day -- the school said it was because of the construction they were going to do next summer and because labor day was so late.  Either way, they could have cancelled spring break instead (which is a completed waste of a week off which no one *needs*) -- that would have been a much better idea instead of messing with everyone's summer.

Here is Nathan in front of the school -- getting bigger!

We try to take the boys to one Wild game a year -- we usually do a pre-season game because well, they don't like to sit during all of it anyways, it's less busy, and it is pretty exciting (the start of a new season always brings hope)...

Oh!  Another fun note for this game, Daddy once again had our agent move our tickets to be four seats in a row.  We get the tickets and I say to Chris, "These aren't those in the back again, that aren't in a row?"  and he is like, "no..."  Yeah, we get there, and once again, we have three seats in a row, and another one like a mile away.. (I was like, I told you!)...not good for a family of four!!

We had fun being silly.

Daddy splurged and got the kids this crazy ice cream thing below...OMG it was huge!!!
